Pipa Testing

Carli castles is a registered PIPA inspection body

What is PIPA Testing?

All inflatables intended for use by children fourteen years and under where the primary activities are bouncing or sliding, are required by law to be tested annually by a competent person. A competent person is someone who has undertaken a specialised exam to show they confidently understand the laws and regulations of EN14960:2013.

Carli Castles has taken this specialised exam and we are now a competent pipa inspection body. We travel across the country to test inflatables making sure they meet the required standard of EN 14960:2013, allowing you to set up your inflatables knowing that they are tested to a high standard and SAFE to use.
The PIPA scheme shows to customers that you care for their children's safety and that you take pride in keeping your equipment maintained, therefore increasing bookings and making a good company profile.

Once an inflatable has been tested it will be issued with a PIPA tag which should be clearly visible to the public. What if my inflatable has no tag?

As the scheme was first implemented on the 1st September 2004 and because every inflatable must, under PUWER regulations, be inspected annually then all PIPA inspected equipment will be tagged. If yours has no tag then you should check its inspection status with the supplier.

Only inspectors operating under either PIPA or the Amusement Device Inspection Procedures Scheme (ADIPS) are recognised by the HSE. PIPA is the only scheme which covers inflatables exclusively, all its inspectors are registered with the Register of Play Inspectors International (RPII), and the scheme is recognised as supporting best practice in safety.
